Chris

Speech Language Pathology Assistant
Basic Information: I am an AZ native and have been an SLPA for 6 years. The clinic setting is currently my favorite setting as I can collaborate with other clinicians. I hold my associate’s degree from Estrella Mountain Community College and plan on getting my BA in the near future. My husband and I are foster-to-adopt parents of two boys. Becoming a parent has been the best experience thus far. I was once a speech kiddo working with /r/ errors working on my fluency skills. My speech teacher showed me that speech can be fun and engaging without being boring. I understand the importance as a therapist to not only focus on goals, but foster connection and regulation and meeting your child where they are at.
Interests and Hobbies: I enjoy collecting anything Pokemon, hiking, and family time.
Favorite Place to Travel: San Diego has been my favorite place to travel to so far.
Favorite Quote: “Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.” -Mr. Rodgers
What I Love Most About Working with Children: Children are the beacon of the future and since we know better, we do better. Seeing the success in each child growing to their full potential is the work (play) I enjoy most working with children.
