Interview with Cami
Tell us about yourself
In general, I’m a pragmatic optimist meaning that I like to hope for the best but prepare for the worst. Spending time with family is my favorite pastime. My family is also my best feature. If given the choice between crying about something and laughing about it I will almost always choose to laugh.
Why did you become an Occupational therapist?
I saw the difference Occupational Therapy made to several of my family members. I wanted to be that difference to someone else.
Why do you think your coworkers nominated you for having kindness?
I love the phrases, “Never suppress a generous thought” and “If you can’t say something nice don’t say nothing at all” and I try to live my life by them. I’m not perfect but I try because I believe that kindness begins with me. I guess it shows more than I thought!
What do you love most about working with TEAM 4 Kids?
I love my co-workers and the opportunities we have to collaborate together to provide the best care possible. My co-workers are all so talented and amazing in their own way. Each one has strengths and even weaknesses that make them uniquely qualified to help their clients. They are delightful.
If you had one wish, what would it be?
I wish that everyone in the world would be more forgiving of others’ weaknesses and give people the benefit of the doubt more often. I also wish that everyone would try a little harder to be positive and look for the good in the world. There is enough bad in life without me adding a bad attitude to it.
Nominations for Cami:
“Cami is so considerate to all her TEAMmates! She does little things for them like use her personal time to run and get them Starbucks or by being friendly and polite in the hallways! She always takes so much time to write tickets for her coworkers and that really shows she is a kind human who appreciates small things!”
“Cami is always super friendly when she is walking throughout the clinic. She constantly has a smile on her face even in tough situations. Also, Cami is always willing to see a last minute kiddo in order to help the TEAM.”
“Cami is one of the nicest people I’ve met! She is always willing to jump right in to help in any situation. She always has a smile on her face.”
