Interview with Steve
Tell us about yourself
Tell us about yourself: I am 38 years old with a wife and 2 kids, a boy and girl 6 and 4 years old respectively. I love cooking, motorcycles and golfing but am generally a homebody otherwise. I have my bachelors degree from University of Michigan in the area of Movement Sciences and I worked as a personal trainer for several years prior to going back and getting my doctorate in physical therapy.
Why did you become a Physical Therapist?
I have always had a knack for mechanics and for the human body. Physical therapy allows me to use both of those skills together in a meaningful way.
Why do you think your coworkers nominated you for being Humorous?
I am always messing around with the kids and having a blast in the gym with them. When we have social gatherings I tend to be outgoing and lose my filter very quickly which can lead to some fun conversations.
What do you love most about working with TEAM 4 Kids?
I love getting a reaction from kids – sometimes it’s pure joy and laughter, other times I’m met with cynicism or fear which needs to be overcome. Either way, a kid is going to show you exactly how they feel and there is a lot of honesty in that. I also really love my coworkers. They put up with my often manic behavior and they are genuinely a kind and caring group and it’s rare that a group this large can be so universally wonderful!
What is your best joke?
Oddly enough, I am horrible at remembering jokes! I’m more of an off-the-cuff type of person. I do like this gem though: “Why can’t a nose be 12 inches long? Because then it would be a foot.”
