Working at TEAM 4 Kids for almost ten years has allowed me to get to know hundreds of TEAMmates. When asked, most of them will say one of their favorite things about working here is the people! It is true we have some truly amazing people who work here. Still, the truth is that we all need connection, and what is special about TEAM 4 Kids is that no matter how big the company gets, the connection we have to each other is essential and is fostered. We experience this through TEAM building, volunteering, company events, family events, the bosses offering tickets, and more. Many of you have relationships with coworkers that extend past these walls.
Our happiness and well-being are deeply intertwined with our social connections. In today’s fast-paced, technology-driven world, it’s easy to overlook the value of genuine connections. However, research consistently shows that strong social ties can significantly enhance our happiness and fulfillment. Whether it’s our relationships with family, friends, colleagues, or even strangers, human connection is a cornerstone of our emotional and mental health. Individuals with strong social ties are better equipped to deal with stress, overcome challenges, and navigate life’s ups and downs. By surrounding ourselves with positive and uplifting people, we can tap into a source of emotional support and encouragement to help us weather difficult times and savor the good ones.
It is easy to get consumed by life’s busyness. Take the time to meet with friends, chat with coworkers at lunch, volunteer for a cause, talk to a stranger in line, or call your family. After all, can’t we all use just a little more happiness?
