Fit n Fun

What is Fit n Fun?

The Physical Therapy department at TEAM 4 Kids is excited to offer Fit n Fun for elementary school-aged children. It is an energy-filled way to work on gross motor skills through therapeutic play in a peer environment. Fit n Fun is designed and led by a member of the Physical Therapy team to promote age-appropriate physical activities such as running, jumping, coordination, balance, and ball skills. To keep it fun and exciting, the Fit n Fun class is structured around a theme that is then tailored to each participant’s individual goals and needs.

Who benefits from the Fit n Fun Class?

Children learn through movement and play; therefore, almost all kids can benefit from the Fit N Fun class!  It is uniquely adapted to meet the needs of each child in attendance; therefore regardless of skill level everyone can participate and take something valuable away from the class. It is perfect for children who may have difficulty keeping up with peers in school or on the playground and will help by incorporating intentional play activities to improve their motor skills.

What activities do you do in this class?

The theme of the class varies but the goals of each class remain consistent. Kids can expect fun-filled activities and games to improve their range of motion, strength, balance, posture, coordination and motor planning. Outcomes can include improvements in gross motor skills such as jumping, stairs, balance beam, galloping, skipping, obstacle courses, navigation outside and around a playground, confidence, peer interaction and so much more!
