Interview with Kayla

Tell us about yourself

I am a dog mom who enjoys building Legos and playing Switch in my free time. When not spending time with my boyfriend or dog, you can find me furthering my education in the area of infant feeding.

Why did you become a Speech Language Pathologist?

I became an SLP because I think it’s the best job in the world! I get to work with amazing children who teach me something new about myself every day. I have always had a passion to help others reach their full potential and as a speech and feeding therapist, I get to do this as a living!!

Why do you think your coworkers nominated you for being ambitious?

I believe I was nominated for being ambitious because ever since my start at T4K two years ago, I have completed multiple certifications and CEUs in infant feeding. I recently completed the Certified Lactation Counselor exam and gained my credentials as a CLC. Now, I am working to open a whole new department at T4K in order to provide breastfeeding services! I always strive to make positive changes in the workplace, not only for the clients but employees as well.

What do you love most about working with TEAM 4 Kids?

I LOVE the support I get from everyone I work with. The owners, from day one, have encouraged me to reach my goals and have believed in me every step of the way. The department leads take the time to know all employees and make interactions personal. All staff including admin, billing, therapists, and support staff help each other daily and it has been one of the most positive and uplifting environments I have ever worked in.

If you could have one wish come true, what would it be?

I wish teleportation was real so I could visit family and travel more easily!

Nominations for Kayla:

She continually challenges herself in work by being a speech therapist and feeding specialist. She recently took on a new role as lead for her team and took on a student to teach the trade. If that isn’t enough, she went on to get certified as a lactation consultant as she saw a need in the company and took it upon herself to learn to be a better teacher and teammate. Kayla continues to keep a positive attitude at work encouraging everyone in each of our own ambitions.”

“Kayla knows what she wants and puts in the hard work to get it!”

Kayla is always trying to learn and do more at T4K! She’s known she wanted to be a lead since she started and she’s done whatever she can to get there!”

Kayla has grown professionally a lot since her time here. She tackled baby feeding and finished her CLC certification! It is great to see her ambition and what she has succeeded with so far.”

Kayla is always striving to reach new goals! She is always taking on any task thrown her way and works hard to further develop her skills.”

She has been working so hard to kickstart getting the breastfeeding department started and I think it’s awesome!”

She works hard to gain new certifications and training. She studies extensively to learn new information. Kayla is ambitious in the amount of work that she takes on. She does her best to bring the team together and is always willing to stop what she is doing to answer a question or to help a coworker.”

Kayla has climbed up in the company and works hard every day. She has got a lead position recently in the speech department, does feeding therapy, and is climbing up the ladders.”

Kayla is such a go-getter! From her passion for winning pageants to her most recent goal of becoming a certified lactation consultant! When she sets her mind to something, she does it!
