Interview with Michael

Tell us about yourself

I graduated from the University of Arizona in 2016 with a Bachelor’s in Speech and Language Science (Bear Down!). I’ve done speech in many different settings over the last 5 years. I started working in-home, then worked at a school before coming to work outpatient. My favorite place to travel is anywhere with a Disney theme park. If anybody sees me around here, they always see me in different pairs of sneakers. I have way too many pairs of Jordans in my closet!

Why did you become a Speech Language Pathology Assistant?

I decided to become an SLPA because after working through my curriculum at the U of A, I did my required hours to receive licensure at a speech camp at their clinic. After we were done working with the kids at the end of 6 weeks, I knew speech was what I wanted to do.

Why do you think your coworkers nominated you for being silly?

People always say I’m funny and make them laugh, intentional or situational. There was a time I sent Snapple facts for an entire week to my former supervisor, Megan, just to see how long it took until something was said.

What do you love most about working with TEAM 4 Kids?

I love working around a group of people who love being around each other. Everyone is friends with everyone.

Tell us your best joke!

Why didn’t the chicken cross the road? Because the dinosaur did not evolve yet.
