Interview with Taylor
Tell us about yourself
My name is Taylor Trout and I have been with T.E.A.M 4 Kids since August 2021. I am from Omaha, Nebraska and moved to Arizona to start my journey as a pediatric occupational therapist. I love spending time with friends and family, exploring AZ, and going for a run outside!
Why did you become an Occupational Therapist?
I knew from a young age that my calling was to help others, specifically to help children grow and succeed. After shadowing a pediatric occupational therapist, I knew it was what I was meant to do. I fell in love with learning about sensory processing integration and how every child needs something different to succeed in their everyday life skills, as I believe we play a role in that process. Also, I became a feeding therapist and have enjoyed every minute of it!
Why do you think your coworkers nominated you for being inspirational?
I am very grateful for being nominated as inspirational! I believe that I was nominated because I do my best to motivate and encourage others. Also, I believe we can always progress in our personal and professional goals.
What do you love most about working with TEAM 4 Kids?
I love being able to help children progress in their everyday life skills, no matter how big or small! Children never fail to make me smile and I genuinely love being an OT. Also, my co-workers are AMAZING!
What is your favorite motivational quote?
My favorite motivational quote is: “Fair isn’t everyone getting the same thing, fair is everyone getting what they need in order to be successful.” I keep this quote very close to my heart. It motivates me to advocate for children getting what they need to be successful and to be the best OT I can be!
