Jump Jump Froggy 2 App to Keep Your Kiddos Active

by | Aug 9, 2019 | Physical Therapy

With electronics becoming so popular as an activity of choice, here is a fun way to include electronics with physical activity. Physical activity is so important for children for many reasons including lowering body fat, increasing fitness levels, and strengthening bones and muscles. Physical activity can also help improve cognition and decrease symptoms of depression.

Some long-term effects of exercise include preventing heart disease, obesity, and type II diabetes. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, children ages 6-17 should get at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity daily.  This App is a great way to encourage your child to improve overall fitness and meet that 60-minute minimum of physical activity!

This App has the child jumping around the room in order to collect flies for the froggy. When the child speeds up his/her jumping, this can target the aerobic system which is great for the heart! When the child squats deeper into his/her jumping, this can target the muscles in the leg which is great for strengthening! In order to help with coordination, place targets on the ground for the child to jump on! In conclusion, if your child is highly motived by electronics, this is a great FREE App to include electronics with physical activity.

If you have any concerns about your child’s physical fitness or gross motor skills, don’t hesitate to reach out to one of our Physical therapists at our Surprise or Peoria location to schedule a free screen!
